BAY COUNTY, Fla. - A little league baseball team in Pinellas County wanted to do something to help Christmas shine bright so they decided to gather gifts for kids affected by the hurricane.
In all, they collected more than 450 toys.
Sonny's BBQ wanted to pitch in and added 400 turkeys to the pot.
The items will go towards Project 25, a program of the Bay County Sheriff's Office.
"We really want them to know that they're not alone and there's people always thinking about them just hoping their lives get better," said Sonny's BBQ owner, Sonny Titen.
Sheriff Ford says, "we've had a very tough year this year with Hurricane Michael, a lot of people have lost a lot but we still want to be able to provide that Christmas to the kids of Bay County."
the presents will be distributed on December 21st.
If you want your child to be apart of the fun, you must first sign up with project 25 at the Bay County Sheriff's Office.
