Two Calhoun County Teams Heading to Youth Softball World Series

CALHOUN COUNTY, Fla. - High school sports may take a break during the summer time... But little league sports are full speed ahead! Two teams out in calhoun county are making history.

The Altha Angels 10U team and the Blountstown Darlins 8U team both went undefeated through their regular season and district tournaments. Last weekend, they won the state tournaments in central Florida.

Both squards are now gearing up to head to the World Series in Alexandria, Louisiana next week with hopes of becoming national champions. The teams will leave Thursday. The Angels will begin play on Friday, while Blountstown will play on Saturday.

Here is how you can donate to the girls as they prepare for their trip:

Blountstown Darlins: Message their Facebook page set up under 'Calhoun County FL 8U Dixie Darlings.' People/businesses who donate $300 or more will be put on a banner that is being taken to the World Series.

Altha Angels: Contact Sherry Mccrone on Facebook.
