Seven Panhandle JUCO players selected in the MLB Draft


PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Seven Panhandle JUCO players got some great news Wednesday. They had been selected in the MLB Draft. 

Gulf Coast’s Brett Wisely taken in the 15th round by the Tampa Bay Rays. His brother Alec Wisely, a former Commodores and current USF player, selected as well in the 34th round by the Cleveland Indians. 

Commodore’s pitcher Hunter Milam also picked in the 17th round by the Philadelphia Phillies. 

The list keeps growing for the Chipola Indians. Ivan Johnson drafted Tuesday by the Cincinnati Reds. Both Andrew Baker and Julio Carrion getting selected by the Dodgers and then Joshua Rivera selected by the White Sox. 

Northwest Florida’s Jake Randa picked in the 13th round by the Washington Nationals.
