NFL Star LeGarrette Blount Hosts Youth Football Camp at Tyndall AFB

TYNDALL AFB, Fla. - Detroit Lions running back LeGarrette Blount is hosting a youth football camp at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Blount is a three time Super Bowl winner – twice with New England and most recently with Philadelphia in February.

The camp began Thursday afternoon and continues Friday morning.

150 military children from first through eighth grade were at the camp running drills and having fun with the NFL star, who spoke to them about he importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The camp was put together to honor the resiliency of military children and their families.

Blount says having the time to impact children personally is one of his favorite parts of the off-season.

"Just a laugh or a smile, a joke, or a handshake, whatever it may be from someone of my status or any other football player's status can make someone's day,” Blount says, “I've had people say, 'You've made my year.’ Being able to have that impact and influence on somebody is really important to me."
