Local Teams Play in Chipley Volleyball Tournament

Volleyball was in full action up in Chipley on Saturday. Teams from across the panhandle came out to play in the Chipley Volleyball Tournament, as the season is officially underway.

The tournament was arranged in four 3 team pools, each playing two matches in pool play before entering a four team tournament. They then played two more games to advance to the championship round.

With the season just beginning, tournaments such as this one are a good opportunity for teams to play a lot of games in one day and face a variety of different competition that they’ll see throughout their regular season schedules…

Marianna Head Coach Jessica Haid said that the tournament has been a great start to the season for Marianna and has allowed the team to see exactly what they need to work on in order to have a successful year…

“It is helpful because you have different level of skills that you’re playing against, and that helps with seeing where the weaknesses are because you have so many different adjustments according to the team,” said Coach Haid.
