Godwin settling into playmaking role with Gulf Coast

Former Blountstown football and basketball star KK Godwin has quickly become a top playmaker for Gulf Coast Men's hoops.

The Commodores are a particularly young squad this year, which opens up opportunity for the Calhoun County talent to get right in and compete.

He's seen minutes in every game so far - most recently putting up 16 points in the Commodores' 77-75 win over ASA Miami last Sunday.

Head Coach Jay Powell says he's satisfied with Godwin's development.

"KK is doing a fine job. He's on the ball playing the point some, and he's also off the ball playing the 2 spot sometimes, offensively. He was coached well in high school. He learned how to play and has been a nice player his whole life. We're very excited about him and his future here and how well he's doing for us," said Powell.
