FCSAA State Baseball Tournament games postponed Monday

LAKELAND, Fla. – The FCSAA State Baseball tournament games scheduled for Monday afternoon have now been postponed to Tuesday due to bad weather.

Northwest Florida will take on Miami Dade at 10 a.m. Then Chipola will play the State College of Florida 30 minutes after the end of that one.

The championship game or games will be played on Wednesday.

Chipola head coach Jeff Johnson said this little break was kind of a good thing for the team.

“We’ve had three really late nights playing the last game, you know we haven’t been out in the heat. But you know I think we got in at 11:50 on Friday night, 1:25 on Saturday night and 3 o’ clock in the morning before we got in the last night, you know I think a day off for us is not a bad thing,” Johnson said. “You always think about how it affects you with pitching and other teams pitching. But for the most part, I think it’s the fair thing to do. It puts everybody in the same position as today.”
