PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Over the last three days, 35 sailors have been competing in the inaugural 2018 ISCA Master World Championship at St. Andrews Bay Yaht Club. The week's first regatta was held for competitors aged 40+.
Some of the week's competitors included:
- Paul-Jon Patin, 1992 World Champion, past ISCA president, winner of last two Sunfish Masters International Championships, winner of 2016 US Sailing Champion of Champions, past Interclub US National Champion, past JY15 North American champion.
- Gail Heausler, 4-time Women’s Sunfish North American Champion
- Dick Tillman, Past ISCA president, four-time Sunfish Masters International Champion, First ever Laser North American champion.
But it was Eric Oetgen who claimed first place in the week's first regatta.
The sailors will take a break on Wednesday's and then the second regatta will be open to competitors of all ages and will help determine who will represent their country at the 2019 Pan American games in Lima, Peru.
