PORT ST. JOE, Fla. - With only three teams left to preview, Port St. Joe is our next focus for 21 Teams in 21 Days.
Perhaps the biggest high school football news of the off-season was coach Greg Jordan leaving Blountstown, who he had just taken to the 1A State Title Game, and heading to arch rival Port St. Joe.
As always, the Sharks are loaded this year, entering as preseason #4 in class 1A.
They've got 19 seniors returning from a year ago. One of those is quarterback Josh Butts for his second year under center. He’s a dual threat that should approach 1000 yards on the ground and through the air.
One of the stars of the season will be WR/S Kendre Gant. He committed to UCF a few weeks back and is one of the top play-makers in the area.
Port St. Joe is one of those teams where the expectation isn't just the playoffs – it's a state title.
It's a long road ahead, and Coach Jordan is challenging the team leaders to step up.
“I told those guys, our seniors, we're going to go as far as they take us,” Coach Jordan said, “Our seniors have done a really good job of buying in and working hard to provide good leadership so far. It's easy right now. We'll see how we hit when adversity takes place for our seniors. That's when we'll know what we've got."
Up next on 21 Teams in 21 Days will be the Sneads Pirates.
