Wewahitchka Man Arrested after Hitting a Patrol Car

A Wewahitchka man wanted by the Bay County Sheriff’s office is arrested after he leads deputies on a chase.

Yesterday 25-year-old Stephen Stanley was driving and refused to stop for a deputy off the 2nd street in Wewahitchka.

He almost hit a patrol car before he led deputies on a chase down State Road 71 into Calhoun County.

Stanley then intentionally ran into a patrol car before deputies were able to box him in and arrest him.

No one was hurt in the chase.

He was arrested for Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer using a motor vehicle, two counts of Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer using a motor vehicle, Reckless Driving, and numerous traffic related offenses.
