Election day is less than two months away and the state Division of Elections is reminding voters of upcoming vote-by-mail deadlines.
Those overseas requesting a vote-by-mail ballot may have already missed their chance. The deadline for the supervisor of elections office to send those out is this Saturday.
All others requesting ballots can do so now until October 31 at the very latest.
Bay County’s Supervisor of Elections also warns people of waiting too long to send their ballots back after filling them out.
“In the last election, the day after election day, we received 200 vote-by-mail ballots that were sent on the 27 of August. Election day was the 28. There’s no possible way the ballots will arrive here in time so I don’t want voters in that condition,” Mark Andersen said.
If you’re unsure of your vote by mail status, you can call the supervisor of elections office, or go to their website.
