Visitors in Mexico Beach Helping the Area Move Forward

Residents and visitors are lending a helping hand in Mexico Beach with recovery efforts. With hundreds of homes and businesses destroyed, many in the area are looking to rebuild. As a way to move forward, a visitor from Ocala  spent a few days creating signs.

The signs are for both organizations and residents and are each personalized. The artist has been painting for 20 years and gave out each sign for free.

“Look at everyone else out here doing things for free a lot of volunteers when you have a crisis like this in this kind of devastation you just want to pitch in and help out as much as you can,” said Lisa Fitzpatrick, Mexico Beach visitor.

Fitzpatrick created a sign for city hall and a local group giving out food to residents. She said she’s happy to put a smile on people’s faces during this time of destruction.
