Verizon Helps Fight Food Insecurity

Verizon partnered with the Feeding the Gulf Coast Initiative on Saturday to collect non-perishable food items for families recovering in the area.

Those who came to the 23rd Street location to donate also received free lunch, compliments of the store.

Verizon officials say they’ve partnered with other organizations in the area to help recover and this is just another way they’re getting involved in the community.

This is just another great way to partner with another organization that’s very rooted in our community here to be able to help and give back. Verizon really wants to be a part of the rebuilding and helping our community sustain from hurricane Michael, said Verizon District Manager Jacinda Jack.

The store will also be taking donations on Sunday from noon to 3:00 p.m. Those who come to donate will receive free lunch.
