Two of the three men involved in an armed robbery that resulted in the death of an Arnold high school student have been sentenced.
Rodney Jones and Gertavious Canada both made plea deals in exchange for their testimony against the shooter, Demarcus Giddens. Jones’, who pleaded guilty of principal to robbery with a deadly weapon, requested a 15 year sentence while the state suggested the minimum he serve be 20 years.
He was granted the lesser sentence of 15 years. As for Canada, who pleaded guilty to principal to armed robbery, he will serve 4 years in the department of corrections.
Both men have requested to serve their time at Bay Correctional Institution. Giddens will be sentenced on Tuesday, October 2nd.
