Bonifay, Fla. - Two men are facing multiple charges after leading law enforcement on a brief chase this afternoon. The Holmes County Sheriff's Office received information that Desmond Jackson of Bonifay was driving around the area on a suspended license and selling illegal narcotics.
An investigator located Jackson in Bonifay, and attempted to pull over the vehicle. Jackson accelerated and traveled through a ditch in an effort to flee. According to the Holmes County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit continued as Jackson eluded authorities, finally stopping on midway street and ran away on foot.
Investigators finally captured Jackson in a wooden area in Bonifay. His passenger was identified as Anthony Willis of Georgia. Investigators recovered a trafficking amount of Ecstasy in the same area, along with scales and small amount of marijuana.
Both Jackson and Willis are charged with trafficking in MDMA, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson, who is currently on state probation for robbery and theft, also faces charges of the sale of ecstasy and marijuana, driving while license suspended, fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, resisting arrest without violence, and violation of state probation.
