Two Men Arrested Following Disappearance of Caryville Woman

CARYVILLE, Fla. - The three day search for a missing Caryville woman ended Thursday.

Two men are charged in her death.

The Washignton County Sheriff's Office Arrested two brothers after they found evidence that led them to believe Deena Zimmerman had been murdered.

WCSO began a search for 45-year-old Zimmerman on Tuesday.

A family member learned that she didn't show up for work Monday or Tuesday and called authorities.

Their investigation led them, first, to Bay County.

"Early this morning, Mrs. Zimmerman's vehicle was found at a condominium in Panama City Beach," said Kevin Crews, Washington County Sheriff.

After locating the vehicle, they received information that led them to a suspected grave sight in Washington County.

That's when authorities interviewd 48-year-old Sean Dowis and his brother, 49-year-old Greg Dowis.

"During questioning of these two suspects we were able to receive full confessions," said Sheriff Crews.

Officials said, during the interview with Zimmerman's live-in boyfriend, Sean Dowis told them he was intoxicated early Monday morning, which upset Zimmerman.

"She started arguing with him, which led to a verbal disturbance between the two of them and in his words, he snapped," Sheriff Crews said.

Authorities believe Seans brother, Greg, then helped Sean hide the body.

"This is still a very active investigation, at this time we have got three separate crime scenes being processed as we speak," said Sheriff Crews.

Sean Dowis is being held at the Washington County Jail on one open county of murder.

Greg Dowis was booked for accessory to murder after the fact.
