Two Hospitalized Following Boating Accident

A late night boating accident in Bay County Saturday sent two people to the hospital, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers.

Officers said Anthony Bruening, 21, was driving a 24-foot Grady White vessel around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, when he hit a buoy in St. Andrews Bay south of the Hathaway Bridge.

Three other people were on board the boat at the time of the crash.

Officers said the impact caused Paige Dederick, 18, to fly off the vessel. She was transported to Bay Medical Center as a precaution.

Payton Gentry, 21, was treated at the hospital for a broken arm.

Bruening suffered a minor injury. The third passenger James Stone, 20, wasn’t injured.

Officers are still investigating the accident and said charges could be forthcoming.
