The state releasing the first batch of this year’s test scores today. For the entire state of Florida, third grade reading scores showing a slight dip from 58 percent to 57 percent scoring a middle level of three or above out of the highest possible score of five.
In Bay County, the district saw a slight dip as well from 59 percent scoring a three or above to 57 percent. Turning to an individual school, St Andrew Elementary saw a solid score of 59 percent.
The Principal of St, Andrew, Janie Branstetter said, “59 percent of our third graders at St. Andrews School reach a level 3 or above is just phenomenal. We have so many barriers to overcome with out students with emotional and behavioral disabilities that we’re just ecstatic.”
This is just the first bit of information about student testing released by the state. There will be much more, including school grades, in the next few weeks.
