Springfield officials held a commission workshop meeting about residents rebuilding the city as well as an update on the debris in the city which is a little over 631,000 cubic yards.
They also talked about how their building department inspections might go in a different direction from the company E.P.C.I. which is in charge of the permitting now.
Also, two voluntary annexations that are happening with in the Springfield city limits that will help the city grow.
“Well anytime you get an annextion that means your growing not only will it help with our population numbers and getting things done. You hate to say it but it helps on taxes because you get the additional properties,” said Ralph Hammond, Springfield mayor.
The workshop also proposed a new Springfield city logo that is still in the works.
