PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - County commissioners voted Wednesday to approve a $960,000 contract to repave several roads in Panama City Beach. Commissioners said the roads are in poor condition and need repairs.
They said this is just one of the many projects they will be using the half cent sales tax for. The contract was awarded to GAC Contractors and they will begin work shorty. A few of the roads involved include Laird Street, Hispanola, and Bristol street.
"We get a lot of complaints about roadways deteriorating and once a roadway starts deteriorating it really goes quickly so this is a project that needed to be done and it's been long overdue," said Philip Griffitts, Bay County Commissioner.
Commissioners said the project should be close to completion within 120 days.
