Scott Burrows brings words of encouragement and 'Hope for the Panhandle'

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. - Life after Hurricane Michael has been a trying time for many, but one individual came to Bay County to share some inspirational words.

Scott Burrows is a Florida native who was paralyzed from the neck down at the age of nineteen.

It happened in an accident at St. George Island.

Since then, Burrows has spent his life sharing his experience and wisdom with others.

His three principles for life are summarized by the motto, 'Vision, Mindset, and Grit.'

Before speaking Friday, Burrows visited Mexico Beach.

He was surprised by what he saw, but not discouraged.

"I live west of North Palm Beach, I've seen hurricanes, the devastating effect, but I haven't been to ground zero before. So to see what's happening out there it's amazing to see the landscape, but there is sparks of life starting to come back which is a beautiful thing, but I know a lot of people are struggling," said Scott Burrows.

During the event, Burrows gave out copies of his book, 'Vision, Mindset, Grit'.

He hopes the words might be of some comfort to those still struggling to cope with the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
