Rescue Mission Gives Away Free Hot Meals for the Holiday

News

Over 100 people walked away from bethel village in Panama City Monday with a free hot meal. The Panama City Rescue Mission has provided a free Christmas Eve meal to the community for over 20 years. The event started at 11:30 a.m. and carried on until 1 p.m.  Organizers said each year it’s important to provide for the less fortunate. This year holds an even deeper meaning after the devastation of Hurricane Michael.

“I think it’s just a tremendous opportunity to show people that the Rescue Mission cares about them and a meal a lot of times goes a long way that helps people and let’s them know that somebody loves them,” said Thurman Chambers, Rescue Mission CEO.
