Repairs Continue on Tourist Attraction in Port St. Joe

The Cape San Blas Lighthouse located in Port St. Joe is a popular tourist attraction. Like many other structures in the area, the site received damages from Hurricane Michael.  The tower is an 1883 model shipped down from New England. It was originally placed in cape san blas and was moved to Port St. Joe in 2014.

The tower itself received little damages but the gift shop needed several repairs. Port St. Joe city commissioners aim to fix the popular vacation spot. “We went out to bid, the commission did, at our last meeting for the roof repairs so once we get that replaced we can really move through the contents and get it back together,” said Jim Anderson, Port St. Joe City Manager. As repairs are being done, the attraction is open on limited hours. They hope to get back to normal hours before memorial day.
