PANAMA CITY, Fla. — A big celebration took place Saturday for a church in Panama City as they gave thanks to one contracting company who helped them to rebuild after Hurricane Michael.
The ‘New Beginning church’ held a community get-together to celebrate their partnership with Barfield Contracting.
The company has been heavily involved in rebuilding the church… and Saturday afternoon, they offered even more… a check in the amount of $85,000.
Bishop of the church, Lonnie Mitchell, said they are hoping to get their church back together in the next couple of months.
“Everybody’s excited because we keep saying it’s a miracle in progress. Because it’s to God be the glory, he’s working through Barfield construction and other sponsors to help us and we just give them praise and glory,” he said.
Officials representing Barfield Construction said they’re just happy to help in a time of great need.
“It’s a feeling that I can’t even describe of being able to be in a position to help a church and to help the community the way we’re doing,” said Barfield Contracting District Manager, Scott King.
