Ponce De Leon to host first Spring Fling

News

If you’re in the Holmes County area and looking for some fun this Saturday, the town of Ponce De Leon is hosting its first ever Spring Fling.

An easter egg hunt for children will begin at ten a.m.

After that, families and friends can walk around and visit the many vendors that will be set up both inside and outside of town hall.

Officials said the entry into the event is free, but bring some money for snacks and raffles.

There will be plenty of activities for both children and adults, including bounce houses and live music.

City officials decided to host the Spring Fling to raise funds to help better prepare the town if there is ever another disaster like Hurricane Michael.

Town clerk, Tammy Melerine said they’re excited for the event.

“Finally we’ve got something we’ve got going on for our community. There is not a lot to do,” said Tammy Melerine, town clerk. “We have the childrens ball so they play baseball and basketball. So we have those seasons, but other than that there’s not a whole lot for our community to get together and do.”

The Spring Fling will be at the Ponce De Leon town hall, this Saturday, April 6, 2019 from ten a.m. to four p.m.

Children participating in the easter egg hunt should be lined up in the parking lot before ten.
