Panama City Police have arrested and charged a man with manslaughter after a shooting earlier this week.

On Sunday, 55-year-old Everett Tate, of Panama City, was shot multiple times and killed at a home on W. 22nd Plaza, police wrote.

On Thursday, investigators wrote in an arrested affidavit that said they determined that there was enough probable cause to charge Jeffrey Bleakley, 51, of Panama City, with manslaughter. They added that Bleakley confessed to the killing and that physical evidence recovered on scene confirmed that he was not using his gun in self-defense.

Anyone with more information about the case is asked to call PCPD at 872-3100 or report tips anonymously to CrimeStoppers at (850) 785-TIPS.
