PANAMA CITY, Fla. - After months of searching for a new executive director of the Panama City Downtown Improvement Board, one man has been selected for the job.
Derek Freeman will serve as the new director, and will become an active member of the board at the next meeting. Freeman has an extensive background in marketing and events, and will prove as an important asset to the board. Since late September the board has been searching for someone who would best fill this position and chairman, Nick Beninate, says Freeman is the best choice.
"I am very excited in this position, I've been looking forward to it since Nick and I, the Chairman, spoke last week. I've been very excited about it all holiday week and it's been something we've talked about and prayed about all week in my family," said New DIB Exec. Director, Derek Freeman.
Freeman hopes to help create an app for the DIB and improve their events and social media. The next meeting will be held on December 11th at 8:30.
