Panama City Beach Fire Department Seeking More Members for Their Team

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - The Panama City Beach Fire Department is on the look out for more firefighters. 


Officers said they are trying to fill 18 different positions within the next year and a half. Fire Chief Larry Couch said  the staff members are needed for a new fire station they are will be building off of Nautilus Street. 


Candidates will go through interviews as well as a physical challenge process. He said there are a few things they're looking for in candidates. 


“Basically anybody with a big heart, firefighters help people, that's there goal, anybody that doesn't have that in them, they're not going to last,” said Chief Couch. 


He said the team is trying to attract a younger generation to the profession. Those who are interested in applying should call Panama City Beach City Hall.
