PANAMA CITY, Fla. – If you are looking for a meal this weekend, you might want to check out Mosley High School.
Operation BBQ Relief will be serving free meals to anyone who shows up at the school between 11 am and 1 pm Sunday, June 9, 2019.
Bay District Schools had originally planned to have a community BBQ and thank you event for all first responders this weekend but the weather has pushed that plan back until August.
Personnel with the school system say the cookout will be a way to honor everyone who helped get Bay District back in the classroom and have a successful school year.
“We want to thank the linemen, the first responders, the military, our law enforcement officers, our own employees! Our own employees put the needs of the kids first when we asked them to come back and open school and many of them weren’t ready to do that, but they did because they knew school was important for the kids,” said Sharon Michalik, the Director of Communications for Bay District Schools.
The event this Sunday is open to all, but the appreciation BBQ will require a free ticket that can be picked up at Mosley between now and August.
