Officials collect ballots and equipment post election for manual audit

It was a smooth election day according to officials at the Bay County supervisor of elections office.

Races in Callaway, Springfield and Panama City Beach have all come to a close as the winners have been elected by the people.  Final results came in pretty fast, just under ten minutes after the polls closed.
Wednesday officials spent most of their day collecting equipment and ballots back from polling locations. All results are final and the Bay County supervisor of elections, Mark Andersen, says no races were close enough for a recount. The next step for officials will be conducting a manual audit to verify all the ballots collected.

“A manual audit means you go in and you make sure that the physical hand eye counting of the ballots matches what took place on election day,” said Bay Co. Supervisor of Elections, Mark Andersen.

The state requires the manual audit to be done after verification.
