PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - The day marked the new beginning for one special local facility.
Recovery Bay held their grand opening, opening its doors to any and all who seeks help recovering from drug and alcohol abuse.
For their 26 week program to help individuals achieve a clean sober life, the rehab center offers 56 beds in their living facility to males only.
The center also offers the Hugh F. Smith Scholarship were two males will be able to go through the facilities programs free of charge.
Those at the grand opening emphasized how the facility was something the local area was missing.
"This has been our missing link here in Bay County. We've got some good treatment center options but we have no good sober living facilities options. My own son had to go far away because there were no sober living facilities here. So it's a very good thing," explained Karen Smith, Hugh F. Smith Scholarship.
Recovery Bay will also offer jobs, transportation to jobs, as well as school re-entry assistance to those admitted.
