Panama City Beach, Fla. - New charges filed in an accident that claimed a life in Panama City Beach. Around 3 AM Sunday morning, Panama City Beach police officers responded to a crash at the corner of highways 79 and 98.
THe reports say a Honda was struck in the rear by a dodge ram truck driven by Guillermo Lopez. Lopez fled the scene, but was later discovered in the parking lot of an express lane convenience store.
Officers pulled the other driver, Kimberly Mason, out of the vehicle and attempted life-saving measures. However, Mason died at the scene as a result of her injuries.
Lopez now faces the following charges: DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, no driver's license involving a death, leaving the scene involving a death. He is currently being held for immigration authorities at the bay county jail.
