A woman battling severe lung disease and unable to tend to her property was aided by a group of neighbors.
Diane O’Farrell, otherwise known as “the Baroness” to locals, has been a resident here for 48 years and was notified by code enforcement to clean up certain areas of her property.
If unable to do so, the property would have to be condemned.
However, a group of neighbors came out to help.
They were made aware of her situation and soon after the group organized a clean up to help out Diane.
“We are here and we are a community. We need to come together and respectfully help our neighbors to have their dignity and allow them to live their lives out in their homes. The homes that they love, that they have treasured, and where all of their memories are,” said Brenda Smallwood, neighbor clean up co-coordinator.
The home is actually going to be put on the market and sold, while Diane finds a place to live that better helps her medical condition.
