SPRINGFIELD, Fla. – The man who was shot and killed in Springfield Tuesday was ‘not his normal self’ shortly before he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot another man, Springfield police wrote in a news release.
Coworkers told police that Anthony Green of Alexander City, Alabama was acting unusually before he went to his vehicle and retrieved a firearm. Green then pointed that firearm at his boss, Travis Pressley, the owner of Pressley Builders.
“I’m gonna put one in you,” Green said, as he racked the slide and prepared to fire. As Green raised the gun toward Pressley, Pressley drew his pistol and fired three rounds at Green, police wrote.
Green later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
Both men had valid concealed carry permits from Alabama and those permits remain valid in Florida, police wrote.
Given the circumstances, no arrest has been made in the case. The State Attorney’s Office will review the case and determine if any charges should be filed, police wrote.
