Mexico Beach Shines Bright

A small beach town is impossible not to notice as of Sunday. The Mexico Beach Community Council held its 5th annual Christmas tree lighting and golf cart parade.

News 13’s Alex Thorson was there, and says the evening serves as a reminder of all the beauty in this area of the panhandle.

As 2017 comes to an end, a special season begins.

“Christmas is our favorite holiday,” Peyton and Bailey Watson said.

Residents, Santa, and even Rudolph enjoyed the extravagant 12-foot-tall tree being lit. No matter the size, assembling a Christmas tree takes team work.

An invitation was given to all, regardless of their home addresses.

People also brought a gift to share for those less fortunate this holiday season. Hundreds of toys were donated, and will be gifted to local children for Christmas.

If you’re looking for another Holiday celebration, next Sunday, the Junior League of Port St. Joe will hold ‘the nutcracker’ a free, family-friendly performance. More information can be found here:
