SOUTHPORT, Fla. - Friends and family are remembering a Southport man who was tragically killed in an accident.
Christopher Peoples Jr., also known as DJ, was struck by a vehicle on Highway 20 on June 6th, while riding his motorcycle.
Sunday, a memorial ride was held in his honor to celebrate his life and spread awareness of sharing the road with motorcycles.
The ride started in Southport, went through Panama City Beach and Lynn Haven, then back up through Southport where DJ was from.
Over 30 bikes came out to show their support.
"Everybody here has lost a family member or they lost a friend due to someone careless in a car. 90% of the people walk away. My son always wanted to ride with the crowd so he's going to love this," said Danny and Amber Bruce, DJ's Parents.
The family would like to remind everyone to look twice while driving, it could save a life.
