Thousands of homes are still in need of roof repairs after damages from Hurricane Michael. In return metal roofing companies are seeing a huge increase in customers. 50 hour work week for Jason Davis is now around 70. Baker Metal’s orders per day are at an all time high.
“We were getting upwards of 25 orders its probably 40 to 50 now,” said Davis.
The company sells material to contractors and homeowners. “Anything you need for a metal rood we’ve got it,” said Billy Vallas, manager.
A time when many home-owners in the area need just that after Hurricane Michael.
“Everybody just about in the county needs a new roof just about every roof has been affected one way or the other,” said Vallas.
Around 400 customer orders a week are getting supplies from the business.
“Before Hurricane Michael, the average November, December was probably 20 to 30,” said Vallas.
Two and a half months ago their business hours were Monday through Friday 7 in the morning to 5 at night. Now, they have crews working 24 hours a day.
“We’re focused on trying to get people back to normal for Christmas and holidays,” said Davis.
