The Gulf County Commission is extending their beach closure until April 9.

The commission originally decided to close the beaches last week in an unanimous vote.

During an emergency meeting Thursday, they decided to keep the beaches closed for another two weeks.

The Panama City Beach City Council also voted to keep public beaches in city limits closed for two more weeks, while the Bay County Commission extended their beach closures for another week.
