Fatal wreck shuts down portion of Back Beach Road

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) — The victim of Sunday’s fatal pedestrian traffic crash has been identified as 28-year-old Gustavo Linares.

According to the Panama City Beach Police Department, officers responded to the crash in the area of Holiday Golf Course on Panama City Beach Parkway.

Preliminary investigation shows Linares was crossing Panama City Beach Parkway to the north shoulder of the road where he was hit by a black Infiniti heading west on Panama City Beach Parkway.

Authorities said alcohol was not a factor in this crash.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Panama City Beach Police Department.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) — Panama City Beach Police were on the scene of a fatal wreck this morning on Back Beach Road near Clara Avenue.

Back Beach was reportedly closed heading west at Clara Avenue.
