Adjusting to the new normal following Hurricane Michael has been a challenge and for many, they still need a helping hand.
Luckily, the Springfield community church is stepping up to do their part. The church partnered with ‘Feeding the Gulf Coast,’ who donated the food and supplies.
The church handed out boxes filled with fresh produce and other essentials to anyone in need. Local contributions of clothing, baby items, and water were also available.
Volunteers said they are happy to help, despite having to deal with their own personal recovery.
“I feel so blessed to be a part of an organization that just that can give out. And it’s like the more we give out the more that comes in and we give all glory to God,” said Springfield Community Church Volunteer, Donna Dickerson.
Springfield Community church will continue their recovery effort every Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. while supplies last and the need is still there.
