Local church hosts community fun day in Lynn Haven

News

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. — Hurricane Michael damaged First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven, making their facilities unusable but that didn’t stop them from hosting a community fun day on Saturday.

The free event at Sharon Sheffield Park featured food, bounce houses, music, and more. Any and everyone was invited as hundreds of children enjoyed the games and arts and crafts.

The pastor of the church says, despite the devastation, his church wanted to help residents relax for a day.

“After the hurricane, we felt like people really needed an outlet, a time to just come out and have fun to enjoy themselves and not have to deal with all the problems they’ve been dealing with,” said Pastor Tom Daniel.

Three other churches helped put on the event, another local church and the others from Fairhope, Alabama and Alpharetta, Georgia.
