Lynn Haven, Fla. — A nearby medical facility was evacuated Thursday afternoon as forestry officials and local firefighters battled a woods fire in Lynn Haven.
The brush fire broke out about 3:30 p.m. The fire is in the area of 389 and East Avenue in Lynn Haven.
Multiple agencies responded to the blaze. The fire was at 12 acres and was 40 percent contained as of 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. No homes are threatened by the fire.
Steve Whereley with the Florida Forest Service said there are a lot of down trees from Hurricane Michael in the area. Those trees are making it hard for bull-dozers to create a line that keeps the fire from growing.
