JCSB: Meeting to Negotiate Teacher Salaries

MARIANNA, Fla. - Teachers in Jackson County make more than $5,000 less than the average teacher salary in the state of Florida.
Jackson County School Board employees have met with members of the teachers union to negotiate salaries, labors, and insurance benefits for several weeks now.

Friday morning, the school board will hold a closed meeting to discuss their end of the negotiations.

Superintendent Larry Moore said they are not sure when a decision will be reached.

"It's hard to say. It just depends. It's a negotiation so we'll have to see how it plays out," said Larry Moore, Jackson co. Superintendent.

There will be another meeting between the teachers union and the school board next Wednesday afternoon that is open to the public.
