Jackson Hospital is hosting its 14th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium Tuesday night.
It will feature guest speakers who will talk about the importance of early detection and how annual mammograms and other tests can help.
“If you wait and cancer gets more advanced and spreads to the lymph nodes, the cure rate starts dropping off because of the spreading to somewhere else in the body,” Dr. Steve Stokes explained.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Rivertown Community Church in Marianna. Dinner will be served and those in attendance will have a chance to win raffle prizes.
The symposium is free to the public, but reservations are required. You can call (850) 718-2884 to reserve a spot.
