Insurance village helping those struggling with hurricane claims

News

PANAMA CITY, Fla.– 8 months after Hurricane Michael, residents in Panama City are still encountering insurance problems.

The 55+ club of Panama City held an open meeting Wednesday at Daffin Park for anyone in need of help with their insurance claims.

Representatives from local law firms and homeowners’ insurance companies attended the meeting to hand out information.

They also sat down to meet with attendees and listen one-on-one to individual problems. Ted Howell, an attorney at the site on Wednesday, said it doesn’t hurt to reach out to a professional with your insurance concerns.

“It helps to have someone that can come in from the outside and help you with that and show you the steps and kind of take some of that burden off. There are still other things to deal with, but we can help with that insurance process,” said Attorney with Perry & Young, Ted Howell.

The 55+ club of Panama City plans to host meetings for the next 6 months for those age 55 and older consisting of support following Hurricane Michael and other activities.
