PANAMA CITY Fla. - To celebrate National Insurance Awareness Day, People's First Insurance had a cook out open to the community.
National Insurance Awareness Day is every year on Jun. 28. For two hours customers got a free goody bag filled with a hot dog, drink, cookies and chips.
The food was only part of the celebration... licensed professionals were on hand to answer questions about coverage.
Hurricane season startedJun.1, and continues until the end of November. Senior Vice President at People's First Insurance, Danielle Penny, says now is a perfect time to make sure assets are protected with the right insurance policy.
"We're in Florida- hurricanes, floods, and recently wildfires- it's super important that people protect the things that they've worked so hard for. so here today we're just trying to say thank you to our customers and the community that we live in and we work in."
People's first insurance has been in the community for more than 100 years, and about 1500 members of the community stopped by for a free lunch.
