The Clerk of Court for Holmes County was suspended by the Governor Thursday following his arrest on fraud charges by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Kyle Hudson, was arrested Tuesday night on one count of organized scheme to defraud, seven counts of official misconduct, and one count of money laundering.
The investigation began in January after an annual audit showed an increase in travel expenses made by Hudson.
Hudson indicated he had been attending training and other meetings related to work, then created fraudulent receipts and meeting agendas and submitted them for reimbursement. In 2017 and 2018 Hudson defrauded the taxpayers of more than $6,000, investigators said.
According to the order Hudson is suspended without pay.
