Many Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative customers are wondering when they will receive power back as the post-hurricane week two mark approaches.

Ninety nine percent of the power system is expected to be totally restored by November 1st. However, some customers may be unable to accept power by this projected date due to damages.

Gulf Coast Co-op has over eleven hundred linemen working to restore power from all over the country.

Vice President of Marketing and Communications Kristin Evans says there is urgency to restore power for customers.

“We are working as quickly and as safely as possible to get the power back on. We’re increasing our numbers every day of how many meters we’ve got turning. We appreciate everyone’s patience. We know it’s tough, and we’re working as quickly as we can,” said Evans.

Forty three percent of the power system is currently restored.
