PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Some combinations just go together, cookies and milk. peanut butter and jelly, but one festival celebrated the irresistible combo of tacos and tequila.
The Grand Lagoon Tacos and Tequila Fest brought locally owned businesses together to compete for the best tequila cocktail and taco.
Ten restaurants put their best foot forward to win the votes of the hundreds of people in attendance.
Organizers say the event was a chance for the community to come together and possibly find their new favorite restaurant they might not have found otherwise.
“Anytime we can bring our local business community and our local resident community together to just enjoy where we live and who we are and how lucky we are to be here. And you know to bring visitors in to experience that with us, you know everybody wants to travel like a local these days,” said Tracy Rudhall, the President of the Grand Lagoon Coalition.
This is the second inaugural event for the festival. It had to be canceled last year due to the weather, but organizers are already excited for next year.
