Florida Blue Gives out Relief Kits, Directs Victims to Available Health Care

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - A Florida health insurance team is in town this week to help all residents, not just members, recover from Hurricane Michael.

Florida Blue is distributing hurricane relief kits to the first 50 attendees at the Panama City Walmart.
They each have food, toiletries, disinfectant wipes, trash bags and more to support two people for seven days.

Nurses will also be on hand to offer health coaching and help people find health care, as many doctor's offices remain closed.

"We understand that it's a long road to recovery and it's just a drop in the bucket, but we're here to help navigate the system because a lot of providers are down. So we can help you understand what's in the network, what's up, and is there somewhere we can connect the dots," one agent said.

Florida Blue will be in the Walmart parking lot from 9 to 5 until December 9.
